Stolen vehicle found submerged in the Barnett Reservoir
SUMMARY: In Rankin County, Mississippi, a submerged stolen vehicle was discovered in the Barnett Reservoir on October 24. Authorities responded to a boat ramp near Lake Harbor Road, where divers from the Reservoir Fire Department located a black 2008 Ford Mustang approximately 50 yards from the road, submerged in 15 feet of water. The vehicle had been reported stolen to Richland police in 2009. It was subsequently recovered and secured, with Rankin County deputies assisting in the ongoing investigation alongside Reservoir and Richland police.

Former Madison County detention employee charged with animal cruelty
SUMMARY: A former detention employee in Madison County, Wesley Kiser, was arrested for animal cruelty after deputies discovered 45 malnourished dogs and four horses at his residence. Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker reported that the animals lacked protection from the weather and were taken to the Webster Animal Shelter and several veterinarians for care. Each removed animal will result in a separate charge of animal cruelty against Kiser, who has been terminated from his job.
