Toulmin Avenue house fire 3rd since homeowner moved in
SUMMARY: A family of six in Tolman Ville is safe after a house fire broke out on Tolman Avenue around 9:30 AM. This incident marks the third fire at the home, with previous fires attributed to electrical issues. The family’s four children were playing outside while their parents were at work when they received news of the blaze. Mobile Fire Rescue responded quickly, extinguishing the flames, which melted siding on a neighboring house. Fortunately, the family escaped unharmed, though they are left shaken. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, and Alabama Power disabled a burnt power line.
The homeowner said a Wednesday morning house fire is the third fire she’s been through at that house.

Alabama's rain chance forecast: you need a magnifying glass to see the showers this weekend
SUMMARY: The weather has been dry, with no significant rain for 25 days. Current temperatures are 79°F in Cullman and 81°F in Gadsden. Overnight lows will be in the 60s. Thursday will reach 85°F, close to a record. Friday remains warm and dry with highs around 86°F. The weekend will see a brief cool-down with a chance of light showers, but rainfall amounts are expected to be minimal. There’s a significant chance of continuing this dry trend into November, possibly marking one of the driest Octobers on record for Birmingham if no rain falls Sunday or Monday.

Sixth Avenue Streetscape Project Approved | Oct. 23 2024 | News 19 at 4 p.m.
