Robots to patrol Georgia jail | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office has introduced high-tech robots at the Cobb County Jail as part of a pilot program aimed at enhancing security. Standing nearly six feet tall, these robots feature advanced technology, including 360-degree cameras, night vision, and heat detection. Sheriff Craig Owens believes this is a pioneering move in U.S. jails, as the robots will assist with perimeter patrols and security rounds while allowing deputies to focus on other duties. The robots operate autonomously but can be remotely controlled for complex tasks. The 90-day pilot program is cost-free and aims to improve safety and efficiency within the facility.
The Cobb County Jail has gotten a major high-tech robotic upgrade. Sheriff Craig Owens says this will be a gamechanger.

Harris campaigns to keep Black voters on her side, especially the men | Georgia
SUMMARY: Vice President Kamala Harris’ success hinges on minority voters, particularly in battleground states. While she retains majority support from Black and Hispanic voters, Donald Trump has gained traction, notably among young Black men, leading to a 12% swing in favor of Trump compared to 2020. Recent polls indicate only 78% of Black likely voters support Harris, dropping to 76% with third-party candidates included. Former President Obama is campaigning to boost Black voter turnout, though his efforts appear ineffective. In Georgia, where Black voters represent 30% of registered voters, early voting indicates strong participation, but Trump currently leads in polls by 1.5%.

Georgia Supreme Court will not consider reinstating new election laws | Georgia
SUMMARY: The Georgia Supreme Court unanimously denied the Republican National Committee’s appeal to reinstate seven new election laws blocked by Judge Robert McBurney, who cited potential “administrative chaos.” The laws aimed to enhance election integrity, including new requirements for hand counts and partisan poll watcher access, but were criticized by Democrats as hindering voting. The ruling comes amid a contentious election season in Georgia, where nearly 2 million voters have already cast ballots, resulting in a 27.5% turnout rate. Republican leaders expressed disappointment, claiming the reforms had popular support among voters for safeguarding election integrity.
