Second hottest October in history: North Texas
SUMMARY: Temperatures are set to rise over the next few days, nearing record highs near 90°F. The forecast predicts highs of 90 today, 89 tomorrow, and 88 Friday, with Saturday offering slightly cooler weather due to a weak front. While some Gulf moisture may lead to low clouds, no rain is expected as the area hasn’t seen precipitation in a month. High pressure from Mexico keeps conditions hot and dry. A cool front may bring some relief next week with potential thunderstorms forecasted for the end of the month, but for now, expect warm afternoons with light winds.
As October nears its end, 2024 is shaping up to be the second-warmest on record for Dallas-Fort Worth. Today’s high of 90 degrees is just one degree short of breaking the record for the hottest day on this date.
