SUMMARY: Repair work on I-40 in Cocke County is ongoing after flooding caused by Hurricane Helen. Local officials shared a video showing the progress. The interstate reopened to local traffic, but is currently restricted to one lane in each direction. Drivers heading to Hartford, Del Rio, and Cosby can travel up to exit 4551. However, the stretch of I-40 leading into North Carolina remains closed.

One lane is now open between mile marker 451 and mile marker 446, TDOT says.
