Volunteers gather for Annual Mississippi Coastal Cleanup to remove trash from beaches
SUMMARY: Yesterday, the annual Mississippi Coastal Cleanup took place, organized by Mississippi State University, with around 12,200 volunteers participating along the coastline. They worked diligently to remove litter and debris, contributing to ongoing efforts to protect the beaches from marine debris. Volunteers received shirts for their participation and were entered into a raffle for a chance to win a kayak. This event marked the final coastal cleanup of the year, highlighting the community’s commitment to maintaining the beauty of the shoreline.
Every October, volunteers gather across the coast in efforts to rid our waterways, beaches, and bayous of marine debris.
