I-65 Project Update | October 20, 2024 | News 19 at 10 p.m. – Weekend
SUMMARY: Motorists in Morgan County are advised to drive cautiously due to ongoing construction. The Alabama Department of Transportation reports significant progress on the I-65 Tennessee River Bridge rehabilitation, resulting in the cancellation of scheduled lane closures for the upcoming weekends. Currently, no daytime lane closures are planned for the remainder of the project; however, nighttime closures from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM will still occur. Initially, this project was expected to take over two years, but updates indicate efficiency improvements in the timeline.

Man Dead After Industrial Accident | October 20, 2024 | WHNT News 19 Sunday Evening
SUMMARY: A man has died following an industrial accident on Saturday evening at Dutch Quality House in Decatur, as reported by local police. Morgan County 9-1-1 received an emergency call regarding the incident, and the injured man was transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital, where he later died. Most of Alabama faces a drought, with no measurable rain in the forecast for awhile.
SUMMARY: Alabama enjoyed a beautiful day with current temperatures in Birmingham at 78 degrees, expected to drop into the mid to upper 50s overnight. Tomorrow morning will see lows around the mid-40s, warming to near 80 degrees by afternoon. The upcoming week promises plenty of sunshine with gradual temperature increases, reaching 82 degrees by Wednesday. With no rain in the forecast for 23 days and October typically being dry, some areas are experiencing mild to severe drought conditions. Historically, Birmingham usually receives over three inches of rain in October, but the likelihood of rain remains low in the coming weeks.
