SUMMARY: On October 12, high school marching bands in Mississippi competed at the MHSAA and MBA Regional Marching Evaluation across five locations. Bands were judged in such as drum major, color guard, and percussion, using a three-level rating scale. To qualify for the 2024 Marching Championships, bands needed an overall superior score, requiring at least two judges to rate them as superior. In the Region 1 competition at , 33 bands performed, with 25 receiving superior ratings. Separate championship for various classifications will be held throughout late October and November.
