Here's what we know so far as we await ruling on Issue 3
SUMMARY: Voters in Arkansas are anxious about whether their votes for Issue Three, aimed at expanding medical marijuana access, will be counted. A challenge to the proposed amendment remains before the state Supreme Court, causing uncertainty as early voting begins. The petition seeks to increase the number of medical professionals who can prescribe medical marijuana and expand qualifying conditions. However, the Secretary of State rejected several signatures, prompting a legal response and recount, which was also deemed insufficient due to technicalities. The court’s speedy decision, hoped for before early voting, remains pending, leaving voters in limbo.
As of just after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, voters in Arkansas are still waiting and wondering if their votes for or against Issue 3 will be counted.
