This fake football team fooled the entire state of Arkansas
SUMMARY: In the mid-1980s, two Jesseville High School staff members, band director Bob Civils and basketball coach Gary Crowder, orchestrated a prank by creating a fictitious football team called the Village Academy Beavers. They reported fake scores to local newspapers, claiming the nonexistent school played against out-of-state teams. The prank gained popularity, leading to wide coverage and interest, even attracting attention from colleges like Yale. After four years, the hoax ended when an anonymous tip exposed them, but it brought laughter and camaraderie, culminating in a celebratory banquet. The legend of the Beavers lives on in Arkansas folklore.

Arkansas State Fair ride malfunctions, leaving riders stuck upside down
SUMMARY: At the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock, an incident occurred where two children, aged 11 and 8, were stuck upside down on a carnival ride for over 15 minutes. Ally Metzger recorded a video showing her children in distress, with her 11-year-old appearing to have passed out. She later recounted that her daughter experienced dizziness and pain due to circulation issues. According to a representative from North American Midway Entertainment, a fault in the ride’s computer caused it to shut down mid-operation, leading to the prolonged suspension. Emergency protocols were followed to safely evacuate the riders.
Kids were trapped upside down for at least 15 minutes.
