Local winners announced for state omelet cook-off
SUMMARY: Two local kids earned recognition at this year’s State Fair omelette cook-off. Emaline Swindle, a fourth-grader from Yellow Busher County, took second place with her cheesy chicken chili omelette. Emily Hay from Owa County secured third place for her “Take Me to Flavor Town” omelette and also won the top prize for best beef omelette. Both young chefs were awarded cash prizes, along with an apron, omelette pan, whisk, and spatula, celebrating their culinary talents and creativity.
The winners were announced for the state omelet cook-off.

Truck carrying 40,000 pounds of cheese overturned on I-22
SUMMARY: On Wednesday night in Owa County, a semi truck carrying over 40,000 pounds of cheese overturned on I-22 near the Highway 25 exit around 9:45 PM. Senior Staff Sergeant Brian McGee with the highway patrol reported the incident. The mess caused a temporary disruption, but the road was cleared, and traffic resumed normal flow by 4 AM.

VIDEO: ICC vs Holmes football
SUMMARY: Holmes Community College remained unbeaten after a thrilling game, ending with a 27-24 victory. The first quarter featured a strong run from Michael Allen, setting up a touchdown catch from Ty Davis to tight end Ethan Miner, making it 7-0. In the second quarter, a turnover by DeAndre led to a field goal for the Indians, extending their lead. Davis later connected with Jaylen Foster for another touchdown, giving the Indians a 17-7 advantage. Despite the Bulldogs’ efforts to rally back, Holmes ultimately secured the road win to maintain their perfect record.
ICC took on Holmes Community College on Thursday October 17th.
