Thief crashes SUV through front of Buckhead business during break-in

Last month, multiple suspects also broke in, prompting the owner to enhance security and reinforce the building. VA hospital shooting body cam video released | FOX 5 New

SUMMARY: Body camera footage has been released of the shooting of 58-year-old John Robert Smith, an armed veteran, at the Atlanta VA Hospital in January. The recording shows DeKalb County police attempting to persuade Smith to drop a knife he held against his neck, but he refused to cooperate, even as multiple were present. When Smith moved towards hospital staff, officers fired several shots, ultimately killing him. DeKalb County District Attorney Sheri Boston announced that no charges would be filed against the officers, expressing the tragedy of the incident, as Smith was someone’s father and son.

The body camera of police shooting an armed veteran at the Atlanta VA hospital back in January has been released. It as the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office decides not to file charges against the officers involved.

Apalachee High shooting: Colt and Colin Gray indicted by grand jury | List of charges

SUMMARY: A grand jury has indicted 14-year-old Colt Gray and his father, Colin, in connection with the mass shooting at Appalache High School in Barrow County on September 4th. Colin is charged with 29 counts for allegedly enabling his son to possess a firearm. Both are set to appear for arraignment on November 21st.

HBCUs receive $18 million grant from health giant

SUMMARY: Paris-based pharmaceutical and company Sopi has announced an $18 million grant over 10 years to three historically black medical schools: Morehouse School of Medicine, College of Medicine, and Mahy Medical College. Although the specific allocation for each school has not been disclosed, will be distributed based on individual needs. The grant aims to enhance clinical research staffing, improve โ€”such as online chat services and pharmacy upgradesโ€”and develop customized programs to advance the educational and operational capabilities of these institutions over the coming decade.

The grant will be spread over 10 years and divided among three historically Black medical schools, Morehouse.
