SUMMARY: A cold front has prompted a weather impact alert due to high winds and wildfire risks, resulting in a Red Flag Warning, prohibiting outdoor burning. Chief meteorologist Chris Franklin reports that cooler temperatures and low humidity will persist through the week, with humidity gradually increasing and wind speeds diminishing. The Red Flag Warning is set to expire in about two hours. Overnight temperatures dropped significantly, with daytime highs remaining in the upper 60s, well below the normal 81°F. Expect chilly mornings ahead, with widespread lower 40s and 30s in northern areas, while metro regions will be in the 50s.

Son of man allegedly shot by SAPD officers wants better de-escalation tactics implemented

SUMMARY: Charles Bagley Jr., the former LSU Football Director of External Relations, tragically died in an accident in Tangipahoa Parish. The incident occurred on U.S. Highway 55 when Bagley’s car was struck while he was entering an intersection. After exiting his vehicle to check on the other driver, he was tragically hit by a Toyota Tundra. Known for his 20-year tenure at LSU, Bagley contributed to three national championships and four SEC titles. The crash is currently under investigation.
