SUMMARY: USM’s Gallery of Art and Design is hosting a new national ceramic art exhibit, featuring exceptional works from potters and clay artists across the country. This year’s exhibit showcases 60 pieces selected from over 300 entries, highlighting both seasoned professionals and emerging talent in the ceramics field. The juried nature of the show ensures a high quality of work, presenting a diverse array of contemporary ceramic art. The exhibit, located in the Hurst building on USM’s campus, offers a unique opportunity for visitors to engage with some of the best contemporary works in ceramics.

Investigation underway after 3 killed in bridge collapse
SUMMARY: A bridge collapse over the Strong River near D’Lo Water Park resulted in three fatalities and four injuries. An inspector from MDOT was present during the incident. The bridge, which hadn’t been in use since September 18th, was in the process of being demolished when it fell, leaving debris on construction equipment. Witnesses described the scene as if a large load had been dumped, expressing their sympathies for the victims’ families. 3 dead, 4 injured after Strong River bridge collapses
SUMMARY: A bridge collapse in Simpson County has resulted in three fatalities and at least four injuries, prompting prayers and support from across the state, including Governor Tate Reeves.
