Baby Mary Josephine Identified
SUMMARY: New developments in a Harrison County cold case from the early 1990s reveal the identity of “Baby Mary Josephine,” a newborn found dead in December 1993 on I-10. Initially ruled a homicide due to blood loss and exposure, the case went cold until recent DNA testing led to the identification of the baby and possible relatives, including her mother. Tragically, when officials sought to contact the mother on October 11, they discovered her dead in her home, with her death ruled a suicide.
