Hinds County supervisor has crews cutting grass in Jackson

What led to shooting incident on I-220?
SUMMARY: A suspect, who underwent surgery after being shot by a Jackson police officer during a violent shoplifting incident, is currently hospitalized under an alias. The situation escalated on I-220 when the suspect, driving a stolen vehicle, fired shots, causing an accident with an 18-wheeler. Police engaged the suspect after he attempted to flee on foot. Witnesses confirmed the suspect brandished a weapon at law enforcement. I-220 was shut down for hours as investigators collected evidence. The suspect faces multiple felony charges, while the involved officer is on administrative leave as the investigation is taken over by the MBI.
