Convicted killer of trans woman on the run | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: Devonte 4, a 26-year-old convicted killer, is currently on the run after jumping bail during his murder trial. Earlier this month, a jury found him and accomplice Jaquin Brooks guilty of murdering Skylar Gilmore, a transgender woman, in 2021. Despite prosecutors urging against bond approval, a judge released 4 on a $25,000 bond in February. Following his escape, authorities are intensifying their search, as they consider him a danger to society. Evidence linked him and Brooks to the crime, which was ordered by a gang after learning Gilmore was involved with another gang member. Tips for locating 4 can be reported to the police.
Davonte Fore, a 26-year-old convicted killer, is reportedly on the run after jumping bail in the middle of his trial. Fore was found guilty in the 2021 killing of Skylar Gilmore, a transgender woman.

Judge issues ruling on hand count of votes in Georgia
SUMMARY: A planned hand count of ballots on Election night has been blocked by County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurn. He ruled that requiring poll workers to manage all ballots would lead to administrative chaos. While the manual review would have counted the total number of ballots, it would not have counted the votes. With this measure being blocked, faster results are now anticipated on Election night.
This is one of the rules recently passed by the Georgia State Election Board: https://www.11alive.com/article/news/politics/elections/fulton-county-judge-halts-enforcement-hand-counting-ballots-2024-election/85-6e5e9c3b-24e2-464c-8567-d36de370804e

Georgia more than doubles early voter turnout | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: On the first day of early voting, Georgia saw a record turnout of over 272,000 ballots cast, more than double the previous record of 136,000. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger praised state and local officials for managing the election despite Hurricane Helen. He emphasized the rigorous measures taken to ensure election integrity, including pre-election testing of machines and post-election audits. Raffensperger reaffirmed that the election outcomes depend on voters, while his office is focused on transparency and accurate reporting of final results. Georgia offers at least 16 days of early in-person voting leading up to the November 5th election, with 8.2 million registered voters.
With more than 300,000 early voters turning out to cast their ballots in the 2024 election, Georgia has more than doubled the turnout they had in 2020 and 2022.
