Canton man sentenced for stabbing gas station owner in face
SUMMARY: Moses Gordon, a 46-year-old man from Canton, Mississippi, pled guilty to stabbing gas station owner Balwinder Singh in the face during an altercation in February 2024. Following the incident at Quick and Easy gas station, where Gordon had previously stolen beer and threatened Singh, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for aggravated assault. Additionally, Gordon pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine related to a separate incident in November 2022, which also resulted in a 20-year sentence. Police discovered a bloody knife on him as he attempted to evade arrest after the stabbing.

Bartahatchie Bridge is under replacement

Texas woman sentenced for hiring Memphis couple to murder Mississippi woman

Three injured in crash on Clinton Boulevard
SUMMARY: Jackson police are investigating a crash on Clinton Boulevard that injured at least three people. The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on November 18, involving a Chevrolet Camaro and a Chevrolet Tahoe. Detective Tommie Brown reported that the Camaro crossed into oncoming traffic, leading to the collision. The driver and passenger of the Camaro were hospitalized, with one suffering life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Tahoe was also taken to the hospital for treatment. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
