Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi hosts its annual Meridian Walk for Diabetes
SUMMARY: Today, the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi held its annual Meridian Walk for Diabetes at Bonita Lakes Park, attracting many supporters of children and families affected by type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Registration started at 1 PM, followed by warm-ups led by Miss Mississippi, Becky Williams, before the walk commenced at 2 PM. The event featured activities for kids, including face painting, a sneaker contest, food, and refreshments. Participants received medals for completing the walk. Williams emphasized the importance of physical activity in combating diabetes, especially in Mississippi, which has high diabetes rates. Proceeds will aid local families with diabetes resources.
Many people came out to walk in support of children and families who have been diagnosed with type and type two diabetes.

Thalia Mara Hall to reopen in January
