SUMMARY: Governor Tate Reeves announced that Mississippi is sending additional resources to North Carolina following Hurricane Helene, which caused significant damage and flooding. This week, 22 Mississippi Highway Patrol officers and 25 from the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks will assist with search and rescue and traffic control efforts. Helene caused over 250 deaths, with a significant number in North Carolina, and many people remain missing.
