Citizens Insurance shedding thousands of Florida policyholders
SUMMARY: Hurricane Milton has intensified fears surrounding insurance policies in Florida, especially as the state–run Citizens Insurance Agency announced it will drop over 300,000 policyholders soon, transferring them to private insurers. Homeowners like Nancy Morales express concerns about potential premium increases and have pending claims that add to their anxiety. Florida regulators have approved this policy transfer amid ongoing market improvements, but many worry about timing it during hurricane season.
