Changes for United Insurance Holders | Oct. 11, 2024 | News 19 at 6 p.m.
SUMMARY: Five North Alabama hospitals, including Huntsville Hospital, may become out of network for United Healthcare by year-end due to stalled negotiations. Patients could face higher costs for out-of-network services, although Huntsville Hospital physicians will remain in-network, and Medicare Advantage participants won’t see changes in costs. Huntsville Hospital claims United Healthcare has not met contractual payment obligations, leading to potential service reductions. United Healthcare argues that Huntsville’s previous contract was significantly higher than others in the region. The first hospital to leave the network will be Helen Keller Hospital on October 15, with Huntsville Hospital following on November 14.
Before the end of the year, five North Alabama hospitals could become out of network for United Healthcare insurance holders.

Alabama's Weekend Forecast: Warm & beautiful weekend, with a cold blast of air next week
SUMMARY: Alabama is enjoying beautiful fall weather with clear skies and temperatures around 79 degrees. The weather is dry, with dew points in the 40s, ensuring no rain is expected soon. Tonight, temperatures will drop to the 60s and upper 50s. While the spectacular Aurora Borealis was visible recently, it’s unlikely to be seen again due to a lower K index. This weekend‘s forecast includes pleasant temperatures reaching the mid-80s, but a cold front will bring cooler weather early next week, with lows potentially in the 40s by Wednesday. There’s also a tropical wave forming, posing no immediate threat to the U.S.
