Hurricane Milton: Water rescues across Florida | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: In Clearwater, Florida, emergency crews conducted multiple water rescues after a storm caused severe flooding, particularly at an apartment complex. Residents were trapped as water rose to waist-deep levels, and cars were submerged. Many chose to stay, believing their community wasn’t in an evacuation zone, leading to unprecedented conditions described as “biblical.” Authorities performed over two dozen rescues, urging locals to shelter in place. In nearby Hillsborough County, deputies rescued a 14-year-old boy found floating in debris. The situation has left residents shocked and struggling to comprehend the extent of the flooding.
Officials were busy on Thursday pulling people out of floodwaters in the wake of Hurricane Milton in Florida.

Many Arab, Muslim-American voters leave Harris for Trump, Stein | National
SUMMARY: Support for Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party among Arab Americans is declining during the Biden-Harris administration, with many shifting toward former President Donald Trump and Green Party candidate Jill Stein. A recent survey shows Trump and Harris are nearly tied in Arab American support, with Trump gaining from dissatisfaction over the administration’s handling of the Gaza conflict. This change could impact swing states like Michigan, where Muslim voters also favor Stein over Harris. Overall, the October 7 terror attack appears to have significantly affected voter sentiment, leading to increased Republican identification among the Arab American community.

Florida evacuees in Georgia weigh next steps after Hurricane Milton
SUMMARY: In recent days, many evacuees from metro Atlanta are attempting to return home after fleeing Hurricane Milton. Traffic on I-75 in Broward County, Florida, reflects this urgency, but officials advise patience as they assess safety conditions. While some plan to stay with family further north, others are uncertain about the state of their homes and businesses. Many, like Michael and Gizmo, are seeking shelter in Atlanta Motor Speedway, while Cheryl Carr, who evacuated from Fernandina Beach, is returning despite financial struggles. The overall sentiment is one of anxiety as residents worry about potential damages and the future of their livelihoods.
Hurricane Milton hit Florida as a category 3 storm on Wednesday night.
