Mississippi native and country music legend Marty Gamblin passes away
SUMMARY: Country music pioneer Marty Gamblin passed away at 80 on Wednesday. A native of Philadelphia, he had a notable 40-year career in the entertainment industry, managing Grammy-winning artist Bryan White and helping to launch the career of renowned country singer Alan Jackson. As a music publisher, Gamblin contributed to 16 Billboard No. 1 singles. He returned to Mississippi to serve as the founding executive director of the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience in Meridian. In 2019, he received recognition with a marker on the Mississippi Music Trail for his significant contributions to the music industry.
