Pine Belt organizations help those affected by Hurricane Milton
SUMMARY: Residents in the Pine Belt are banding together to support victims of Hurricane Milton by providing food and shelter. King’s Arrow Ranch in Lumberton has opened its doors to evacuees and their animals, offering rustic cabins and ample space for livestock on their 153 acres. The Hattiesburg VFW, alongside local churches, organizations, and businesses, is organizing a donation drive for non-perishable food, baby supplies, cleaning products, and hygiene items. Donations will be collected on Saturday, with delivery to Florida planned for Monday. Community members express a desire to reciprocate the support they received during Hurricane Katrina.

Ham Jam is Saturday, Oct. 12, in Philadelphia
SUMMARY: Annette Watkins from Noxubee County discusses the upcoming 23rd annual Ham Jam Festival, taking place on Saturday, October 12, starting at 9 a.m. The festival features 49 arts and crafts vendors, eight food vendors, and a kids’ area with inflatables, snow cones, and face painting. Live entertainment will run throughout the day, concluding around 6:15 p.m., with free admission for attendees.
