Semi-truck crash closes part of Interstate 40 East in Hickman County

Memphis Tigers host college basketball heavyweights in St. Jude Tip Off

In the earlier matchup, the men’s team played against the ninth-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels, initially dominating but ultimately falling behind after halftime. Despite the loss, fans expressed pride in the team’s competitive performance. Meanwhile, the Lady Tigers are currently competing against the top-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks, with the score at 25-11 at the end of the first quarter. Coverage continues at 10 PM.

Preseason don’t hold any meaning in the rankings, but this year’s St. Jude Tip Off, featuring the Memphis Tigers, North Carolina Tarheels and South Carolina Gamecocks Women’s Basketball Team, held a lot of meaning for children living with cancer and the people working to find a cure. Tennessee’s revenues beat September forecast | Tennessee

SUMMARY: Tennessee’s tax revenues for September totaled $2.2 , exceeding budget forecasts by $101.2 million, driven by strong sales taxes (up $43.8 million) and corporate taxes (up $47 million). However, corporate tax collections fell by $69.8 million to last year, with an 10.9% drop from August to September. Finance Commissioner Jim noted that while sales taxes indicated strong consumer activity and surpassed expectations, corporate taxes fell short of last year’s figures due to tax cuts from the 2023 Tennessee Works Tax Act. Overall, September’s revenues are 2.81% above budgeted estimates for the fiscal year.
