SUMMARY: First responders from Mims and L Rock have deployed to Florida to assist with Hurricane Milton preparation. Operations manager John Woodward confirmed that an ALS crew was sent to help manage evacuations as light rain begins in the Tampa area. Milton is categorized as a dangerous category five hurricane, presenting challenges for emergency services, which are still responding to the aftermath of Hurricane Helen. Local Florida ambulance services are handling routine 911 calls while also addressing the needs of individuals unable to evacuate by car, further increasing the demand for ambulance transport during this critical time.
