Tombigbee EPA still out of state helping with disaster relief

More than 30 marching bands gathered at NEMCC
SUMMARY: Over 30 marching bands participated in the Northeast Regional Marching Band Championship at Northeast Mississippi Community College. High school bands from Mississippi and Tennessee prepared for this event, showcasing their talents through exhibitions and competitive segments. Bands were judged against a scoring system, aiming for top ratings and competing for the grand champion trophy. Students and directors expressed excitement and nerves, highlighting their hard work and the opportunity to perform. The Northeast Show Band from Tigerland also showcased its talent at the event, which serves as a precursor to state championships.
High school bands from across the state gathered at Northeast Mississippi Community College for the championship.

Tupelo Titans hosts state volleyball tournament
SUMMARY: The Tupelo Titans hosted the Mid South Association of Homeschool Athletics (MSAHA) State Volleyball Tournament for the first time in Tupelo, attracting five competing teams, including one from Mobile, Alabama, and another from Covington, Louisiana. The tournament ran from 9 AM to 4 PM. Head coach Megan Robinson expressed enthusiasm for future tournaments in Tupelo, citing the community’s support. The Titans claimed victory, going undefeated and defeating the Buxy Wildcats in a best-of-three match, securing the 2024 MSAHA State Volleyball title.
