Police searching for suspects in Atlanta triple shooting
SUMMARY: Police are investigating a triple shooting that occurred early Sunday in the parking lot of the Vault, located on Donal Lee Hollowell Parkway. Two victims, an 18-year-old and a 23-year-old, were shot, while a third was hospitalized separately. Authorities report the shooter was in a car during the incident. Community leaders, including Al Bartell, are demanding action, emphasizing the need for training in conflict resolution and de-escalation for neighborhood leaders. They are calling on local club owners to collaborate on strategies to reduce violence and will hold a press conference later this week to discuss the community peace project.

Georgia gas prices plummet as gas tax moratorium takes effect | Georgia
SUMMARY: Gas prices in Georgia dropped by 23 cents to an average of $2.74 per gallon following Governor Brian Kemp’s statewide gas price moratorium. This reduction is significant compared to prices in neighboring states, where drops were minimal. The gas tax is 32 cents per gallon, and relief may continue as OPEC+ plans to increase production in December, which could further lower prices. The suspension of the gas tax will remain in effect until the state of emergency concludes. In Georgia, the lowest prices are found in northwest cities, while the highest are in Savannah and Valdosta. Nationally, the average stands at $3.17.

Hurricane Milton strengthens to Category 2 storm | Monday 5:45 am update
SUMMARY: A dry front will bring cooler air, but attention is on Hurricane Milton, a Category 2 storm in the Gulf with winds of 100 mph, moving east-southeast. It is forecasted to strengthen into a Category 4 hurricane, possibly making landfall just south of Tampa on Wednesday as a major Category 3 hurricane. While this storm may affect southern Florida, Atlanta is likely to remain unaffected. Meanwhile, Hurricane Leslie is a Category 1 storm with winds of 90 mph, moving northwest and expected to weaken as it drifts out to sea, presenting no threats other than to sailors.
11Alive Meteorologist Chesley McNeil provides a breakdown.
Milton strengthened to a category 2 hurricane this morning. It’s forecast to continue to rapidly intensify in the Gulf of Mexico over the next couple of days.
Milton will be fueled by the warm water of the Gulf which is in part why rapid strengthening will continue. It is forecast to become a major category 4 hurricane as it nears the Florida Gulf coast by Wednesday.
