SUMMARY: Hurricane Moulton formed, with maximum sustained winds at 85 mph, moving east at 7 mph. It is expected to strengthen into a Category 2 by early Monday, then a Category 3 by Monday afternoon, and reach Category 4 by Tuesday morning as it approaches the Yucatan Peninsula. Landfall near Tampa is anticipated before it weakens back into low pressure by Thursday. A cold front will bring cooler temperatures to Alabama, dropping to the 50s, while providing dry conditions. However, Moulton will create rip currents along the Coast, advising caution for swimmers. Mid-80s temperatures are expected initially, with lows in the mid-50s later.

Hurricane Milton to bring multiple threats to central & south FL (Tropics Sunday 4pm)

SUMMARY: The tropics are active with Hurricanes Kirk and Leslie in the Atlantic, but they pose no threat to the U.S. Hurricane Milton is rapidly strengthening in the Gulf of Mexico, with 85 mph winds and a pressure of 983 mbars. It’s expected to become a major hurricane, potentially reaching Category 4 when making landfall in Central and South Florida this . Areas like Tampa and Sarasota are most likely to feel significant impacts, tropical storm-force winds, heavy rainfall (5-12 inches), and storm surge of 3 to 6 feet. Flash and rough are concerns as Milton approaches.

Meteorologist Grant Skinner gives an on the tropical activity in the Atlantic Basin. The 5 First Alert Storm Team is tracking three hurricanes: Kirk, Leslie, and Milton. Fire kills mother and son in McIntosh
