Current temperatures are 83ยฐF with clearing clouds expected after recent rain, leading to a sunny week ahead. Hurricane Kirk remains a category three but is forecasted to weaken as it moves north. Meanwhile, Hurricane Leslie, expected to be a minimal hurricane, will also weaken into a tropical depression. Tropical Storm Milton is projected to strengthen and could become a major hurricane by Wednesday, but it will track east, avoiding the Pine Belt. Temperatures tonight will drop to around 67ยฐF, with highs in the 80s for the next few days.

Jackson man killed in apartment shooting in Byram; investigation underway
SUMMARY: A man is being charged with armed robbery after recently being on federal probation for another bank robbery. Meanwhile, Byram police are investigating a homicide following a deadly apartment shooting. Officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Reserve of Byram Apartments just before midnight on Friday. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive man inside his apartment who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
