Kentucky transportation crew members deployed to North Carolina to help those affected by disaster
SUMMARY: In response to Hurricane Helen, the Kentucky transportation cabinet is sending excavators, dump trucks, and drainage pipes to North Carolina to aid recovery efforts. This initiative reflects Kentucky’s commitment to assist those facing devastation, as many Kentuckians understand the impact of flooding firsthand from their own experience in July 2022. Governor Basher praised the selfless actions of the 20 crew members, some of whom are personally affected by such disasters, for volunteering to help. The team aims to demonstrate the “Team Kentucky Spirit” and plans to send additional manpower and equipment as needed.
