Pilots flying resources to hard hit areas of western North Carolina
SUMMARY: In response to the devastation in Western North Carolina, recovery missions are ongoing, with upstate pilots delivering supplies to affected areas. The Transylvania Airport has partnered with Anchor Baptist Church to aid families in need, many of whom are still searching for missing loved ones. Randy Burton from the church highlighted significant community support, stating that hundreds of volunteers packed thousands of pounds of resources. With rising supply costs and shortages, particularly of tarps and batteries, counties are shifting to request monetary donations. The overwhelming community response has brought hope to those impacted by the crisis.
Communities in western North Carolina are still in urgent need of monetary and physical donations, prompting dozens of flights from local pilots.

Tropical Storm Milton track, models
SUMMARY: Over a week after Hurricane Helene caused extensive damage, the area is experiencing a welcome stretch of dry weather. Today and tomorrow will see plenty of sunshine with temperatures in the low to mid 80s before a cooldown arrives on Tuesday, bringing highs in the 70s and possible overnight lows in the 50s and 40s, especially in higher elevations. Although hurricane season continues, most tropical activity in the Atlantic poses no threat to the region. A system in the Gulf of Mexico may develop into a tropical storm but is expected to remain south of the Carolinas, allowing for continued pleasant weather locally.
Tropical Storm Milton has formed and is expected to become a hurricane.

Vance talks FEMA, Biden/Harris Administration response to Helene
SUMMARY: The Harris Administration has expressed concerns about FEMA running low on funds for disaster relief, especially if another disaster strikes. Many Americans are frustrated that the government allocates billions towards illegal immigration while struggling to support citizens affected by natural disasters. Critics argue that it is disgraceful to prioritize aid to illegal immigrants over providing relief to hardworking Americans whose lives have been devastated by storms. They urge Vice President Kamala Harris to focus on supporting American citizens rather than neglecting their needs, emphasizing the importance of addressing domestic concerns over immigration issues.
