Fayette County Public Schools responds after new accountability data released
SUMMARY: The Kentucky Department of Education has released the 2023-2024 school year assessment data, showing notable progress for Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS). For the first time since 2018, no FCPS school received the lowest federal rating. The number of schools needing targeted support has decreased from 34 to 12, primarily focusing on special education and English language learners. There have also been increases in proficient test scores, particularly a 3% rise in middle school reading and a 7% in math. Despite these achievements, FCPS leadership emphasizes the need for continued improvement and individualized support for each student.

Blake Bramer from New Albany 413 Fit Club suggests that traditional diets hinder success, promoting a gradual change in eating habits instead. Joanne Keefer emphasizes the importance of positive self-talk and making incremental improvements. To start, Bramer advises small actions, like incorporating exercises into daily tasks. Additionally, writing down fitness goals and displaying them at home can increase accountability and motivation, helping individuals maintain focus on their health objectives throughout the year.
