Vigil held for Greenville police officer killed in ambush attack

San Antonio travelers among millions flying out for Thanksgiving

Greenville officer killed in ambush shooting
SUMMARY: Greenville Police Department in Hunt County is mourning the loss of Officer Cooper Dawson, who was killed in the line of duty. At around 7:40 p.m. last night, Dawson initiated a traffic stop that led to a foot chase, during which he was ambushed and shot multiple times. Despite returning fire, Dawson succumbed to his injuries. Both he and the suspect were hospitalized. A procession escorted Dawson’s body from the hospital to the medical examiner’s office.
