'He had no escape plan'| Men recount saving people trapped at Erwin plastic factory
SUMMARY: A Northeast Tennessee company, Impact Plastics, is under investigation following flooding incidents that resulted in fatalities. Reporter Libby Cunningham visited Irwin, speaking with employees from Impact Plastics and a neighboring business whose general manager, Ron Kell, claims to have rescued trapped workers. Kell sent his own employees home for safety but took action to assist Impact Plastics staff, creating an exit path with his tractor. He disputes the company’s statement about allowing employees to leave safely before the flooding. Impact Plastics has declined to provide a direct response regarding the situation. More details are expected at 5:30 PM.

Former officers found guilty of some charges, not guilty of others in Tyre Nichols federal trial
SUMMARY: In a significant courtroom verdict, former Memphis police officers Tarius Bean, Demetrius Haley, and Justin Smith were found guilty on multiple charges related to the death of Tyre Nichols. Bean was convicted of obstruction of justice, while Haley was found guilty of conspiracy to witness tamper and obstruction, along with lesser charges of deprivation of rights and bodily injury. Smith was only convicted of obstruction. The jury deliberated for about 5 hours, ultimately delivering guilty verdicts on six of the twelve counts.
