SNAP benefits set to increase in the coming month
SUMMARY: Starting this month, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) beneficiaries will see a slight increase in their benefits due to a cost-of-living adjustment. Households will receive a few extra dollars monthly, with higher amounts for residents of Hawaii, Alaska, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam to account for elevated food prices. Additionally, there is a change in income eligibility, raising the net monthly income threshold for a family of four from $2,500 to $2,600. This update follows the program’s aim to assist families with food costs effectively.
