Child dies after being hit by school bus in Madison neighborhood
SUMMARY: An 8-year-old girl has died after being struck by a Madison County School District bus in Madison. The accident occurred around 4:20 PM at the intersection of Cobblestone and Rockwood Drive. The child was transported to UMMC in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries. All other students on the bus were safely returned to their parents. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and findings will be sent to the Madison Rankin County District Attorney’s Office. Community members express their sorrow and frustration over the incident, emphasizing that such accidents should never happen.

Ole Miss collecting Hurricane Helene donations
SUMMARY: The University of Mississippi is supporting Hurricane Helen victims by collecting donations through the Ole Miss Association student body. Items needed include water, non-perishable food, toiletries, diapers, bedding supplies, and trash bags.
