10/2 – Thursday brings the heat, and showers may find you Friday
SUMMARY: The weather across the South remains calm with high pressure influencing pleasant conditions, though slightly warm temperatures are expected. A surface trough may bring scattered showers late Thursday into Friday morning, affecting the morning commute. The National Hurricane Center reports a reduced 30% chance for tropical development in the Gulf of Mexico, and while Hurricane Kirk poses no threat to land, Tropical Storm Leslie is being monitored for possible westward movement. Overall, expect warm temperatures in the 90s for Thursday but cooler weather with highs in the low 80s next week, providing a seasonal shift.

Outdoor Adventures with Chelsea: Tupelo Buffalo Park Pumpkin Patch
SUMMARY: October has arrived, bringing with it the excitement of Halloween and the annual pumpkin patch at Tupelo Buffalo Park. During a visit, Chelsea and her son Bo explored the lively patch, guided by lead zookeeper SE Robertson. The event offers numerous games and activities for children, including slides that Bo enjoyed. Parents appreciate the chance to relax while kids have fun, and each family receives a free pumpkin. There’s also a petting zoo, although Bo was hesitant around certain animals. The park accommodates visits from school and church groups and provides activities even in rainy weather.
It is October, that means pumpkin patch season!
