Mississippi man wanted by FBI for felony drug possession

Tate County woman arrested for SNAP fraud

Man convicted in beating death of girlfriend in Jackson
SUMMARY: Billy Gibson was found guilty of second-degree murder for the 2019 death of his girlfriend, Darcie Rich, in Jackson, Mississippi. On December 24, 2019, police discovered Rich unresponsive at their home after Gibson severely beat her with a broomstick, leaving her in a coma. Despite Gibson’s claims, surveillance footage contradicted his account of the events. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison, with 20 years suspended, following his conviction by Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens. Rich was 28 years old at the time of her death.
