Central NC law enforcement provides support in Western NC
SUMMARY: Tragic loss of lives and broken families have resulted from recent floods, leaving some individuals unable to escape. Efforts are underway to provide humanitarian aid, including food and water, to those affected. We are committed to assisting as long as needed, recalling the support received during past floods in eastern North Carolina. This commitment underscores the solidarity among sheriffs, emphasizing that we won’t forget our Western brothers in their time of need.
Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone and his deputies are working in Watauga and Buncombe counties, assisting local law enforcement as they perform welfare checks, utilize cadaver dogs, and deliver aid to those in need.

A lot of polls, not a lot of change in Harris v. Trump | North Carolina
SUMMARY: In North Carolina’s presidential polling, the margin between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris has narrowed, suggesting a tight race as Election Day approaches. Historical trends show Trump often outperforms polls, while Harris, nearing her 60th birthday, was part of the winning Biden ticket in 2020 despite losing the state. Current data from RealClear and Project 538 show Trump leading marginally, with polls indicating a potential repeat of close contests seen in previous elections. North Carolina’s 16 electoral votes are critical, aligning with Pennsylvania’s 19 in battleground state strategies. Early voting begins in 14 days, intensifying electoral dynamics.
