Inspections underway before Mississippi State Fair opens
SUMMARY: The 165th Mississippi State Fair is set to open soon, with extensive preparations ongoing at the fairgrounds. There are over 60 rides and 100 vendors, all of which must pass inspections before operating. A third-party inspection team evaluates the rides for safety, while the state monitors gaming booths and food vendors. Local vendor Robbie Covington highlights that food booths adhere to the same health regulations as restaurants, including proper temperature control and sanitation measures. The State Health Department is also conducting thorough inspections to ensure food safety. The fair will open its gates in less than 17 hours.
