Smash-and-grab robbers at Sugar Land jewelry store arrested after police chase

Around 1:30 PM, the trio used hammers to smash display cases and steal various jewelry items. They fled the scene but were quickly pursued by Sugarland , who apprehended them near Houston Methodist Hospital. All three are now in custody, facing charges of robbery and evading arrest. Witnesses praised the swift police response during the chaotic incident, which left shoppers shaken but relieved that the situation was handled effectively.

Multiple people are in custody after a robbery at a mall in Sugar and a brief police chase.
The incident was first reported by witnesses at the scene just after 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Sugar Land say three orchestrated a smash-and-grab heist at a jewelry store at First Colony Mall.
A source from Sugar Land Police Department said the three burglars used a hammer to shatter two glass display cases at the store and steal jewelry.
After securing the stolen goods, they ran from the store and hopped in a red Ford sedan that didn’t have license plates. Police had a detailed description of the vehicle, so they were able to quickly catch up to the car on the US-59 feeder road in front of the Houston Methodist hospital.

Man killed after being run over by neighbor on North Side, SAPD says

Hurricane Helene Aftermath: Millions still without power
