WKRG TROPICS (FRI Evening 9/27) | Watching the Caribbean Again
SUMMARY: Post-tropical storm Helen continues to cause significant issues across the U.S., including flooding and damage from winds and tornadoes after making landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast. Looking ahead, the National Hurricane Center anticipates another low-pressure area may form in the Caribbean mid-next week, potentially impacting the southern Gulf, though uncertain. Meanwhile, Hurricane Isaac is currently active in the North Atlantic, with maximum winds of 85 mph, moving away from land. Tropical Storm Joyce may strengthen before weakening due to wind shear. The hurricane season has seen 10 names used so far, with Kirk, Leslie, and Milton next in line.
We are watching two named storms and a few other areas for possible tropical development. Another system may form next week in the same region where Helene formed.
