More than 50 patients, staff of Unicoi Co. Hospital stuck on roof due to flooding from storm
SUMMARY: In Unoy County, over 50 patients and staff had to be evacuated from the county hospital due to flooding, leaving some trapped on the roof. All access roads to the facility are impassable. Virginia State Police successfully rescued four patients using a helicopter. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and three helicopters from the Tennessee Army National Guard are assisting with the rescue efforts. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is sending its helicopter to the hospital, along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

EMA Director: 33 missing in Unicoi County, confirmed deaths
