Law enforcement officers complete crisis intervention training

Recently, 16 law enforcement officers in North Mississippi completed a comprehensive 40-hour training program focused on responding to mental health crises. This training emphasizes de-escalation techniques to manage situations involving individuals with behavioral health issues. Tupelo Officer David Harville highlights the importance of keeping situations calm and providing appropriate support. With calls related to mental health on the rise, this training equips officers with necessary tools to handle crises effectively. The next course is scheduled for Spring 2025.

After a week of training, several north Mississippi officers completed crisis intervention training.

Training was recently conducted for 21 firefighters, who successfully used the cameras to extinguish a fire from a dryer lint build-up.
