Hurricane Helene death toll: At least 40 dead
SUMMARY: Hurricane Helen has caused extensive destruction across several Southeastern states, transforming into a tropical depression that triggers heavy rain in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio. At least 40 fatalities are reported, with expectations of rising numbers as rescuers reach trapped individuals. Power outages affect over 4 million homes in Georgia, Florida, and the Carolinas, complicating rescue efforts. Emergency workers struggle with prioritizing calls due to impassable roads. North Carolina is experiencing severe flooding, leading Governor Roy Cooper to advise against driving. In Florida, Cedar Key faces significant destruction, with entire homes missing or destroyed as the storm moves north.
Hurricane Helene is now a tropical depression, but the storm has left behind a trail of destruction. At least 40 people in four states have died in storm-related incidents and that number is expected to rise.

Southwest Airlines accuses City of San Antonio of 'unlawful bait and switch' in new lawsuit
SUMMARY: Southwest Airlines has filed a lawsuit against San Antonio regarding new lease agreements for the airport’s new terminal. The airline claims the city had promised that most of its 10 gates would relocate to the new terminal. However, in May, the city informed Southwest that it would remain in its current, smaller terminal. Southwest has stated that if it cannot secure a place in the new terminal, it may terminate its lease and cease operations in San Antonio. With a deadline approaching, both parties must reach an agreement soon.
A new decade-long lease agreement is expected to go into effect Oct. 1. Southwest is trying to stop that from happening.
