SUMMARY: Southwest Airlines has filed a lawsuit against San Antonio regarding new lease agreements for the airport’s new terminal. The airline claims the city had promised that most of its 10 gates would relocate to the new terminal. However, in May, the city informed Southwest that it would remain in its current, smaller terminal. Southwest has stated that if it cannot secure a place in the new terminal, it may terminate its lease and cease operations in San Antonio. With a deadline approaching, both parties must reach an agreement soon.

A new decade-long lease agreement is expected to go into effect Oct. 1. Southwest is trying to stop that from happening.
