Baldwin Co. utility crews head to hurricane damage in Florida, Georgia
SUMMARY: After Storm Helen caused widespread destruction, leaving millions without electricity, help is on the way. Crews from Daphne and Foley offices are assisting Tallahassee’s restoration efforts with 14 linemen and two engineers. Meanwhile, 22 Baldwin EMC linemen and support staff are heading to Georgia, which has been affected across seven counties. The scope of damage remains unknown, and preparations are being made for various scenarios. Although the rain and winds have subsided, the recovery process is just beginning, and these crews are crucial for restoring power and supporting the cleanup efforts.
Days before the Helene hit the big bend of Florida the call for help had already gone out to utility crews in Baldwin County. Friday that call was answered.
