Federal agencies inviting public to weigh in on future of Jackson water system
SUMMARY: Two years after a water crisis left over 100,000 residents of Jackson, Mississippi, without clean drinking water, federal authorities are seeking public input for long-term solutions. The EPA and Department of Justice will hold two meetings on October 10 and 11 at Jackson State University. The water system is currently managed by interim manager Ted Henifin, who plans to stay until 2027. State leaders have attempted to create a water authority but faced opposition. Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba proposes creating two boards for management. The public can also submit feedback via email until October 31.

Her car was reported in McDonough, GA on Monday night.
